The Agribusiness Research Institute (ARI) is home to internationally recognized research, education and outreach programs in applied organizational studies in agricultural economics.  ARI's vision is to be a leading force in the global network of agribusiness research institutions and graduate programs.

The distinctive characteristic of ARI is its emphasis on the economics of food-system organization, strategy and institutions. ARI faculty research focuses on organizational structure, entrepreneurship, innovation, information, strategy, finance and governance, contracting, collective action, and social capital.

ARI consists of core Ph.D. faculty, affiliated research centers, and outreach services.  Centers facilitate research by generating working capital, research proposal foci, and outreach platforms.  ARI centers and outreach services include:

  • The Economics & Management of Agrobiotechnology Center (EMAC), and AgBioForum, a quarterly online professional and scholarly journal.

  • The Contracting and Organizations Research Institute (CORI).

  • The Graduate Institute of Cooperative Leadership (GICL), in cooperation with the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives (MIC) .

For additional information, please contact any of ARI's core faculty.
